Yoga Deep Dive: Unlocking Backbends

Backbends are more than just shapes on the mat—they’re invitations to open the heart, expand the breath, and release stored tension in the body. In this Yoga Deep Dive, we’ll explore how to move into backbends with both strength and ease, giving you the tools to safely deepen your practice.

We’ll begin with an overview of the anatomy of the spine, back, and shoulders to understand the foundations of healthy backbending. From there, you’ll learn how to strengthen the muscles that support your spine, open the chest and shoulders, and increase flexibility in the hips to create balance and freedom throughout the body.

Through guided drills, mindful alignment, and progressive poses, you’ll discover how to build confidence in your backbends—from gentle heart openers to deeper variations. This workshop is designed to help you release fear, unlock mobility, and cultivate spaciousness, so you leave feeling empowered, uplifted, and more connected to yourself.
